About the Author and Illustrator-Sheila Jeffries

Sheila is a native Arkansan and loves her home state.  She retired from teaching after 29 years.  During that time, she was a classroom teacher for 25 years and ended her career as a reading and math intervention teacher.  In addition to her early childhood teaching degree, she was a National Board Certified Teacher for 15 years.  

Sheila is married to Greg and they have two adult children - Kristin and Josh.  She is a grandmother to Ellie - who calls her "Gram".   

She loves to spend time with her family on their blueberry and blackberry farm in Conway, AR.  

About the Author-Debbie Keller

Debbie grew up in Arkadelphia, lived in a Jonesboro in the early 90’s and has lived in Fayetteville for over 30 years.  She has visited or lived in many parts of Arkansas.  She has a degree from Henderson State University in secondary education but has spent the past 20 years teaching preschool which is where she fell in love with children’s books.

Debbie is married to Scott and has a daughter, Morgan, who is married to Quentin; and a son, Nick, who is married to Vanessa.  And, she is affectionately called Cuckoo by some special little ones in her life.

​Scott and Debbie stay active with walking or riding bikes on Razorback Greenway in Northwest Arkansas, hiking around the Buffalo River and other trails, and going to Razorback sporting events.

About the Author-Amy Burgess

Amy is originally from Delaplaine, Arkansas where her family still resides. After receiving her degree at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, she relocated to central Arkansas for a career advancement opportunity and has now been at that same company for nearly 24 years.
​
She is very proud to be an Arkansan and enjoys spending time outdoors, soaking up the beauty that this great state has to offer. Her family's enjoyment of nature and outdoor activities were the inspirations which prompted her to write a children's book about a curious catfish!

Amy loves working on her photography skills, painting with acrylics and creating artworks for others to enjoy.
